Christmas Times a Comin'

10 days away as a matter of fact! Are you done or caught in the hustle?

We are pretty well done. One more thing a piece to get for the boys and then its official.
This year, Jeremy and I talked long and hard about Christmas, the whole gift thing and what we want Christmas to mean to the boys and our family as a whole.

The boys have TONS of toys and stuff in general. They have been so blessed by those who love them. Us, family and friends. That being said, they don't NEED anything for Christmas. They have plenty they WANT. But that's just it isn't it? Everyone has a hard time distinguishing the difference between the two.

It is so very important to me to raise well mannered southern boys with empathy for others, appreciation/thankfulness, and a whole long list of other traits I will have to address in another blog.
So we are trying to adapt into practice this year the list for raising gracious humans.
Something you want, something you need, something you wear, something you read.

That pretty well covers it, no?

I'd like my boys to care more about the real reason we celebrate Christmas than the toys they hope they get. Toys and Santa are a part of Christmas and childhood most definitely, but I just feel the like the focus is soo far off balance.
